what the heck is this:
hey all. im chrystee. i live in santa ana, ca and i want to change the world.
..but i realize that i need to start at home first.
santa ana, ca is a very conservative hispanic city. there also happen to be a lot of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender students. unfortunately, there really isnt a place in the heart of santa ana that can provide a safe haven for all these lgbt kids.
there are over 10 high schools here and not one of them has a gay straight alliance. thats not cool. im going to change all that.
this fall i am going to attend the high schools in santa ana and speak to staff about lgbt students at their school.
..because lgbt kids are 4 times more likely to commit suicide than their heterosexual peers
..because 64% of students in high schools feel unsafe due to their sexual orientation
..because those are all numbers that i can change
join me in my efforts. this site will be a blog and a place for lgbt kids to gather and talk about their feeling [corny i know, but it will help]. i will be posting sites, pics and news about YOUR lgbt community!
